Possible Postmodern Film case studies (+ Blade Runner)

Black Swan (2010)

The dark, intoxicating and sensual tones that emanate from Black Swan beguile the audience. It will draw you in and confuse your mind as much as the protagonist, Nina, is confused.
The prominent postmodern features here are the altered states: the drug use and the hallucinatory nature of the narrative. It is a film where ‘anything goes’. The high and low culture divide has been destroyed meaning that stabbing yourself in the face or seeing alternate versions of yourself is not out of place for the characters in this film. Parts of this  film also show a pastiche of The Red Shoes.
The aforementioned postmodern features give this film an unstable feeling. We cannot trust the auteur because he is in control of the protagonist, Nina, who cannot even trust herself. At every turn the sense of reality is questioned as Nina questions what it happening to her.
